The IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol is widely adopted today for delivery of frequency synchronization to wireless basestations over Ethernet backhaul. As LTE-Advanced, and LTE-TDD services enter the market, wireless operators are facing a new synchronization challenge to add Time and Phase Synchronization to existing and new network architectures. ITU Standards governing Time and Phase Synchronization have strict requirements that need to be considered when upgrading existing frequency based network designs. This involves easy upgrades of existing equipment to support Time and Phase or adopting new equipment. This webinar will examine best practices for successful PTP frequency deployment, new ITU standards and requirements for Time and Phase Synchronization, and how to evolve synchronization network designs to support Time and Phase Synchronization for LTE-Advanced and LTE-TDD services.
